Voices of St. Mary’s- ⭐ Day 5 — Our Student Council: The Voice, Heart & Leadership of St. Mary’s

1st Jun 2026

For the final day of our Voices of St. Mary’s series, we celebrate a group of children who have been at the very centre of pupil leadership this year — our dedicated, reliable, and hardworking Student Council 🌟💬.

Made up of our Head Boy and Head Girl, our Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl, and our class prefects from Primary 6, Primary 5 and Primary 4, this team has been the main voice of our children throughout the year. They meet regularly with Mrs Orr, gathering ideas, concerns, suggestions, and discussions from every class to ensure that every child has a say and then they act on it.

Their leadership has shaped so many wonderful initiatives:

  • making worry boxes for every class
  • supporting other pupil teams

  • running fun and creative projects so every child had a piece of art displayed

  • organising our St Patrick’s Day decorations

  • fundraising to provide dry‑wipe whiteboards for every class

  • and championing the values that make St. Mary’s such a special place

They have shown maturity, teamwork, and a deep sense of responsibility, always putting others first and always working to make our school better.

Our 2025-2026 Student Council:

  • Aoife — Head Girl

  • Conor — Head Boy

  • Daire — Deputy Head Boy

  • Molly-May — Deputy Head Girl

  • Noah — P7 Prefect

  • Lucy — P7 Prefect

  • P6 Prefects —  Alice and Bobby

  • P5 Prefects — Ellie-Rose and Ryan

  • P4 Prefects — Megan and Rian

To each of you, thank you for your leadership, your kindness, and your commitment to ensuring every child’s voice is heard. You have represented your school with pride, and we are so grateful for everything you have done.
