P3 - Children's Mental Health Week

8th Feb 2025

Primary 3 enjoyed thinking about how to strengthen their mental health.  We agreed that regularly doing the following things help us:

1) Engage with nature and get active outdoors. Thank you Ethan for feeding the birds and thank you to Mark at Healthy kids and all our club coaches for helping us get active.

2) Read or listen to a good story.  Thank you to all the great authors, who create characters with big feelings such as Timid Tim or anxious Dave.  Stories such as these validate our feelings.

3) Talk to an adult about how your feeling.  This can be someone at home or in school.  Thank you to our student council who have provided each class with a worry box for those wprries we are not yet ready to share.

4) Get creative - draw, colour, paint.  Sometimes with the intentions of producing a beautiful piece of work and sometimes just close your eyes and enjoy the therapeutic value of random mark making.  Thank you to Sinead from the Art factory who helped us create a beautiful lanscape picture earlier in the week.

5)  Hand all your worries or problems over to Jesus.
