P.1 Trip “Christmas Through The Ages”

16th Dec 2022

Primary 1 enjoyed a wonderful trip today at Armagh Palace Stables. We enjoyed meeting Miss Hill from the”Victorian Times” who told us stories about Christmas Traditions including cooking, making decorations and gifts Santa would have brought. We helped Miss Hill make a Christmas Pudding and we all had a turn stirring the mixture and got to make a Christmas wish.

Santa was fast asleep when we arrived, and was amazed to see us all when he woke up. Santa told us about presents in Victorian Times and how the Christmas tree was decorated with hand made decorations including dried oranges and candles. He told us Cinnamon was put on the Christmas tree to make it smell nice. Children all got to sit beside Santa and talk to him about their Christmas list.

We got to meet an American Solider from Texas, his name was Donald. He showed us some of his old toys including a  Jacob’s Ladder, a train and a wooden horse. Some members of our class got to play with some of these old toys.

Before we got the bus home, we made a lovely Snow Globe with Silvia .The whole experience was magical, we had a wonderful day. Thank you to Paul and everyone at Armagh Palace Stables for making out trip so special.
