Mr. Magee completes his Marathon Run to School

29th Apr 2013
Mr. Magee completes his Marathon Run to School

Congratulations to Mr. Magee completing his marathon run to school in just 4 hours and 10 minutes! Mr. Magee ran from Lurgan town centre to school, a total distance of 24 miles! He did an amazing job and we are all so proud of him.

He undertook the challenge to help the school raise funds to purchase a set of Ipads for the school. Alongside Mr. Magee’s Marathon run the children all took part in a range of marathon themed activities including walks, runs and ‘Skipathons’. With some classes raising as much as £600! It was a great whole school effort and we would like to thank everyone for their donations and support.

Mr. Magee’s Marathon Run was kindly supported by a number of local businesses, which we would like to thank:

Gollogy’s Spar, Keady

Mc Elvanna’s Clothes Shop, Keady

Mc Grain’s Supermarket, Keady

Mone’s Gift Shop, Keady

Mc Clelland’s Electrical, Keady

Brannigan Fuels, Ballymacnab

County Photos.

The continuing support of the GAA Store, providing running gear and Michael Donnelly, providing sports massage treatments is greatly appreciated.

Mrs. Fearon and Mr. Haughey were kind enough to accompany Mrs. Kelly, standing by should Mr. Magee have required any medical assistance. We would like to thank them for giving their time and support to the run.

A huge thanks to Terry Gollogy, Shane Mc Gleenon and Paddy Hughes who undertook part of the run with Mr. Magee, helping provide him with great motivation and encouragement.

This was a great achievement for Mr. Magee and the whole school is very proud of him and grateful for the dedication and commitment demonstrated to the school in undertaking the run.

Well done Mr. Magee.
