A Special Day at the Civic Centre! ποΈβ¨
We were honoured to be invited by Lord Mayor Sarah Duffy to the Civic Centre in Craigavon for a light lunch and a fascinating tour of the council chambers. The Lord Mayor spoke to the children about her role and the important decisions she makes each day on behalf of the community.
The children were thrilled to step into the chamber—especially getting to sit in the Lord Mayor’s seat and try on the official chain! π
Pupils from our School Council, Eco Council, Wellbeing Warriors and Digital Leaders were all invited to attend today’s visit, in recognition of the incredible contribution our school has made to the community for over 60 years. π
We were warmly welcomed by Councillor Bróna Haughey, a valued member of our Friends Of Granemore School group, past pupil and proud supporter of our school. A special thank you also goes to Councillor Thomas O’Hanlon—dad to Annie, Lucy and Conor, a former Mayor of Armagh and a past pupil of our school—who not only arranged the visit but also generously part-funded the transport.
Finally a massive thank you goes to GT Travel for sponsoring the bus—your support helped make this memorable day possible! π
