Our P5s worked together to explore the impact of oil spills on our oceans. Using a cocoa powder and oil mixture, they tried to clean the feathers of ‘animals’ caught in the spill and used spoons to remove oil from the water.
They quickly learned how difficult it is to clean up pollution, developed great empathy for marine life, and discovered how oil spills can also affect the income of fishermen.
